A man with a homemade leather Batman suit and mask has decided to take to the streets of his town of Dunajska Streda in Slovakia and protect the citizens from wrongdoers.

According to The Montreal Gazette, Zoltan Kohari has decided to take the safety of the town into his own hands. “I have decided to do good for the people,” he said. “I take care of order and help clean up the environment so we can keep living on this planet.”

How Kohari came to his new role as town guardian is something huge to take into account; according to the article, Kohari was a trained house painter who spent eight months in jail in 2011. After he was released, he attempted suicide. After living through this ordeal, he decided his life’s mission is to protect his hometown.

You can read more about Kohari and his mission at The Montreal Gazette.

While Kohari might be a real-life Batman, you will be able to see Gotham City’s Batman in “The Dark Knight,” which will be in theaters July 20.
