If the “21 Jump Street” live chat hosted by Constellation Thursday was any indication about the raucous nature of the film, then I think the film’s going to be a huge success this weekend.

During the chat, the stars and executive producers of the film, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, talked about what went into making the film. But they also tested each other’s wills when it came to downing tequila. During various parts of the live chat, a poll would be taken about an aspect of the film. The polls usually involved a dare to Hill about drinking two shots of tequila, which he completed–twice.

When it came to talking about the movie, however, Tatum said something we all hope happens during the filming process. “We’ve had fun doing this thing,” he said, adding that he and the cast were always adding new things, even though they knew there was a limit to what they could actually put in the film.

They also talked about the pranks they pulled on set, such as “Teen Wolfing”–“surfing” on the top of a driving car, taking pictures of each other (well, of Jonah) while asleep, and more. “[We were] laughing all the time,” said Hill.

Of course, with all of the hilarity going around on set, some of that is going to seep into the film. In fact, Hill said that he thinks “21 Jump Street” is at the top of his resume. “I think it’s the funniest movie I’ve made since Superbad,” he said.

The cast also were able to work with some of the original cast members from the original ’80s show. “[Holly Robinson Peete] is beautiful,” said Tatum. “She looks exactly like she did on the show.” Hill also added that Robinson Peete sang the theme song on set. Johnny Depp was also on set (he will go uncredited in the film’s credits).

Even though there was a lot of lightheartedness while filming, Tatum said one of the hardest parts about filming was the night party scene, the scene which most people might think of as the easiest. “Actually, that was one of the harder shoots to be totally honest because it was at night,” said Tatum. “You have to wake up at 1 o’clock, which doesn’t seem that bad…but you have to stay up till dawn.”

“21 Jump Street” is in theaters today. If you love it, make sure to tell your friends to go see it; as Tatum said, “If everyone goes to see this movie then there might be another one.”
