ReelzChannel has acquired its second original series, the spy thriller action drama ‘XIII,’ Deadline is reporting. The title character, who is named for the Roman numeral tattooed on his neck, will be played by Stuart Townsend. XIII is a former secret operative who is coping with the loss of his memory.
While being hunted by an anti-government organization, XIII looks for clues that will reveal the reasoning why he’s so valuable and dangerous. Aisha Tyler has signed on to play Jones, a government agent and XIII’s most loyal ally.
‘XIII’ is set to premiere in June, after the season finale of ReelzChannel’s first acquired original series, the Steven Seagal starring ‘True Justice.’ Based on Jean Van Hamme’s graphic novels, ‘XIII’ was developed and produced by Prodigy Pictures and French production company EuropaCorp.
