Technically, “The Three Stooges” doesn’t come out until tomorrow, but there have been some early reviews of the film, and I’m a little confused as to what to think about the film.

The Hollywood Reporter has given the film a rather glowing review. To paraphrase one commenter’s comment, I wasn’t expecting this review from The Hollywood Reporter. The Reporter’s “Bottom Line” states, “Uncanny casting and an affectionate spirit get the yuck-yucks out.” I’m surprised how well the critic liked the film. However, there’s a different story when it comes to the critics at Rotten Tomatoes.

So far, the film has garnered a really low 47%. Sure, that number could go up (or go down) once the film is released nationwide, but the fact that it’s so low to begin with is very worrying. It would seem that most critics feel that while they don’t think the film is that great, they feel that it’s a great exercise in nostalgia.

Personally, I’ve never been a fan of The Three Stooges, so I can’t say that the humor would cater to me. However, if you are a fan of that brand of humor and are interested in seeing the movie, write in to ShockYa in the comments section and tell us if you liked the film.
