Jimmy Fallon has made his mark on late night through his spot-on spoof videos. This latest one, based on the hit show “Downton Abbey,” is not only hilarious, but spot-on with all of the “Downton” references and storyline. In fact, it’s probably a little too eerie.

The spoof’s storyline is this, according to the official “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” YouTube page: “As the current resident of Studio 6B, Jimmy Fallon is the Earl of Downton Sixbey, with all the intrigue of the PBS series re-imagined as the inner workings of a late night talk show.” The spoof contains so many things similar to the show–the witty Dowager Countess, the “Bates”-like valet with a malady, The Earl of Grantham’s weird American wife (played by Brooke Shields in this spoof), Edith being the ugly duckling of the group, etc. There’s more in-jokes where those come from, and you can see all of it either at YouTube or in the embedded video below.

Are you a “Downton” fan and can’t wait to see the next installment of “Downton Sixbey”? Do you think “Sixbey” is actually better than the original “Downton”? (Dare I say that even though I’m a fan of the original, I already find that it has less plot holes than the original.) Give your opinions in the comments section below.
