The Tribeca Film Festival is upon us! The event kicked off last night with the world premiere of The Five-Year Engagement and now we’ve got 11 days of films ahead of us, one of which is the World Narrative Competition entry First Winter, and Shockya.com is lucky enough to exclusively host First Winter’s poster debut!

The film shows what happens when a group of Brooklynites head out to a remote country farmhouse only to become stranded there by a blackout of apocalyptic proportions. What’s wrong with an extended vacation filled with sex, drugs, yoga and organic cooking? Nothing until the group’s food supply begins to dwindle and housemates engage in power struggles and suffer through intense jealousy, all while just trying to survive.

First Winter comes from first-time feature director Benjamin Dickinson who used a micro budget to transport his cast and crew to a remote Hudson Valley farmhouse in the middle of winter, for a 23-day shoot. Talk about life imitating art.
