Bling Ring leader Nick Prugo is back in jail as he waits to start serving his two-year sentence, TMZ is reporting. Set to start his sentence next month for leading the group that stole from several Hollywood celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, Prugo’s parents became upset after they learned about his secret drug habit. They were so upset they revoked his $200,000 bail and sent him back to jail.
After discovering their son was doing large amounts of drugs, Prugo’s parents felt the best course of action was to end his temporary freedom. His father called VP Bail Bonds last Sunday morning and told them he wanted his son’s bail revoked after having an argument with him. Prugo was then taken into custody by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He will remain in jail until his sentencing next month, unless someone else pays the bail for him.
Prugo pleaded no contest to two counts of first-degree residential burglary last month for his involvement with the Burglar Bunch crime spree. His plea was part of a deal, in which he’ll testify against three other members of the Bling Ring.
His bond was paid for by his parents, who used their house as collateral. He reportedly turned to drugs after entering his plea. He even attempted suicide with a Xanax overdose.
