You might recall ShockYa and other media outlets reporting on Jessica Chastain’s possible role in “Iron Man 3.” Sadly, she’s confirmed that she’s not going to be taking the role of the beautiful scientist Stark interacts with. “Sorry to say that ‘Iron Man 3’ isn’t going to work out,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “My schedule is jammed packed and I can’t fit anything else in. The press announced my possible attachment far too soon. I know many of you wanted me to be involved, and I’m so sorry to disappoint you. Hopefully there’ll be another Marvel film in my future.”

Hopefully there is another Marvel film in her future, but as for the present, the actress that might fill the role Chastain was offered is Rebecca Hall. According to ComingSoon.net, The actress, who has had roles in “The Town”, “Everything Must Go” and “Frost/Nixon,” could play a scientist who is the intellectual equal to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. The scientist in question could be Dr. Maya Hansen, a character who has been an extreme part of the “Extremis” nanotechnology. That type of technology is also a very big part of “Iron Man 3.”
