Universal Pictures’ “Battleship” aims make a splash (no pun intended) at the box office, but the film is also bringing awareness to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a non-profit organization that honors and empowers wounded military members.

Subway, the world’s largest restaurant chain, will host the alumni of WWP tonight for an exclusive screening of “Battleship” in the Lutnick Theater aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

More than 200 WWP alumni will be present, and the guests will be joined by the director of “Battleship,” Peter Berg, as well as U.S. Army Col. Gregory D. Gadson, co-star of “Battleship” and a batallion leader who lost both legs in Iraq in 2007. Also in attendance will be Justin Tuck, New York football star and Famous Fan of Subway Restaurants.

Tony Pace, Sr. Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer of the Subway brand, said, “Tonight, SUBWAY would like to recognize our nation’s military heroes and say, ‘thank you[.]’ The U.S. military played a significant role in the making of BATTLESHIP. Given our involvement in the film, we felt it was important to honor these service members.”

Official limited edition “Battleship” cups featuring Coke Zero, film imagery and prize codes are available at Subway; prizes include $100,000, so make sure to go to Subway to get your code for your chance to win. Subway.com also features an exclusive “Battleship” microsite.
