Fans of Prohibition-era crime dramas will get a kick out of “Lawless,” a film produced by The Weinstein Company and stars Tom Hardy, Shia LeBeouf and Guy Pearce. The film comes out August 31, and to give a taste of what you can expect, check out some new clips and seven character posters below the post.

“‘Lawless’ is the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who made a run for the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia. In this epic gangster tale, inspired by true-life tales of author Matt Bondurant’s family in his novel “The Wettest County in the World”, the loyalty of three brothers is put to the test against the backdrop of the nation’s most notorious crime wave.”

“Lawless” is directed by John Hillcoat and the screenplay is written by Nick Cave, based on the novel “The Wettest Country in the World” by Matt Bondurant. The film also stars Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska. This film has a great cast and has a winning storyline; I’m rather excited to see this film, especially since vintage costumes are involved. Hopefully, the film will be a success.
