Wolfe Video’s “Private Romeo,” a new take on William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” is coming to DVD June 5! To celebrate the impending release, ShockYa is giving away a copy of the film!

The film, directed by Alan Brown (“Book of Love,” “Superheroes”) and starring Seth Numrich (“Gravity”), Matt Doyle (“Gossip Girl”, “War Horse”), Hale Appleman (“Beautiful Ohio”), Chris Bresky (“Going the Distance”), Sean Hudock (“Powerless”), Adam Barrie, Bobby Moreno, and Charlie Barnett, retells the story of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy by placing it in an all-male military school:

Set in a modern day military school, this smash hit gay adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet features hot Broadway “War Horse” actors Seth Numrich and Matt Doyle as the star-crossed lovers.

When eight cadets are left behind at an isolated military high school, the greatest romantic drama ever written seeps out of the classroom and permeates their lives. Incorporating the original text of Romeo and Juliet, YouTube videos, and lip-synced indie rock music, Private Romeo takes viewers to a mysterious and tender place that only Shakespeare could have inspired.

Great things have happened for this film; the entire cast was given the 2011 Outfest Grand Jury Award for “Outstanding Actor in a Feature Film.”

Priced at $24.95, the unrated “Private Romeo” has a running time of 98 minutes and comes with extra features such as a director’s commentary, behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes, Facebook entries, trailer, closed captions and more.
