The official website and Facebook page for the upcoming Disney animated comedy ‘Frankeenweenie’ are now up-and-running. The film, which was directed and produced by Tim Burton, is set to hit theaters on October 5. The movie features the voices of such actors as Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau and Winona Ryder.

The stop-motion animated movie, was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D. ‘Frankeenweenie’ follows a boy, Victor, who unexpectedly loses his dog Sparky. Victor uses science to bring his best friend back to life, and tries to hide his resurrected pet. But when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town learn that getting a new leash on life can be monstrous.

‘Frankeeweenie,’ for which Burton released a live-action short in 1984, follows in the footsteps of his previous stop-motion animated films, ‘Corpse Bride’ and ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas.’ Both movies were nominated for Academy Awards.
