Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic “Noah” isn’t due out until 2014, but we already have our first look at the set, thanks to Aronofsky’s twitter page.

Aronofsky tweeted a picture from the set, featuring the ark being built. Aronofsky wrote in the tweet, “I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it’s a reality. Genesis 6:14 #noah[.]”

You can see the picture below the post. This truly looks like it’s going to be an epic movie, and the cast looks great, but I must ask why no Middle Eastern actors and actresses were cast for this film, which is based on a story set in the Middle East. Surely, with Aronofsky’s touch, the film would be a success no matter who was in the role. However, I’m getting into the argument about how there are so few minorities in Hollywood and racial disparities in the movie industry, and that’s too big of a topic for this 200-word article. But think about it.

“Noah” stars Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly and Logan Lerman, and will be in theaters March 28, 2014. What do you think about Aronofsky’s tweeted photo? Are you excited to see this biblical epic? Give your opinions on this film in the comments section below.
