The Cooking Channel is sampling international cuisine next month with new seasons of several cooking shows, as well as new on-air specials. The network will first hit the road with Luke Nguyen’s ‘Greater Mekong,’ which will air on Saturday, August 11 at 12:30pmET/9:30amPT. Nguyen will travel across Southeast Asia in search of unique flavors, local specialties and cooking traditions.

Bobby Deen’s show, ‘Not My Mama’s Meals,’ will return for a second season on Wednesday, August 15at 9pmET/6pmPt. The series features a healthy serving of calorie-cutting alternatives of Southern-style comfort food.

The series premiere of ‘Eden Eats,’ set for Friday, August 17 at 10pmET/7pmPT, will feature food enthusiast Eden Grinshpan. She’ll tour local restaurants in cities across America to showcase recipes and global cuisines.

The culinary journey will continue with the one-hour special ‘Best Thing on Sliced Bread.’ Airing on Sunday, August 19 at 8pmET/5pmPT, the show will feature Troy Johnson’s cross-country trip in search of the five best sandwiches in the U.S.

Laura Calder will travel to the French Alps in ‘France Exposed.’ The special, which will air on Sunday, August 26 at 8pmET/5pmPT, will follow Calder as she tries the finest foods in the Alps.
