Entertainment fans are now moving toward a more social experience when consuming their favorite television shows, according to a recent eMarketer study. With social network ad revenue taking in $3.63 billion today, more advertisements are leaning towards entertainment ventures.

The study shows that entertainment advertising revenue is growing, because 42% of Americans use a second-screen, such as laptops or smartphones, to watch TV shows. Seventy-seven percent of social networks users Tweet to tell their friends what they’re watching in real time, and 68% Tweet to keep their favorite shows on the air.

Milyoni, the leader in social entertainment, is helping entertainment companies use social networks to take their content to the next level. Several entertainment endeavors have already succeeded through social networking sites, including the release of ‘Piranha 3DD’ in May. It was the first 3D film to premiere on Facebook.

Power Balance co-sponsored the Facebook launch of the hit indie film ‘Archie’s Final Project’ in December. The social networking site offered a live chat with the film’s director and actors. As a result, more than 1,100 people from 25 countries tuned in.
