The first trailer for ‘The Paperboy’ from director Lee Daniels starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, John Cusack and Matthew McConaughey has debuted via Yahoo. The clip features scenes of McConaughey as a lawyer back in his home town of Florida to defend a convicted killer played by Cusack. Thrown into the case that is full of twists and turns is Zac Efron as McConaughey’s brother with Nicole Kidman as his love interest, who is also the crazy girlfriend of Cusack.
Together the young Efron and Kidman share a few sexually charged scenes with McConaughey looking all business. Cusack comes across as the perfect insane criminal who seems to have a few tricks up his sleeve and a nickname for Efron and McConaughey, “the paperboys”. Check out the first trailer for ‘The Paperboy’, an adaption of the Pete Dexter novel, below with the official plot per Rotten Tomatoes. The movie will be released to theaters sometime next year.
