A new “Bill and Ted” film has been rumored for years now, but ComicBookMovie is now reporting from Vulture that Bill and Ted are officially coming back!

According to the sites, “Bill and Ted 3” finally has a director. Dean Parisot, the director of “Galaxy Quest,” is set to helm the film starring the original actors, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. What’se ven better is that the film is not going to remake anything or reboot anything–it’s simply going to be a a story about where the two friends are in middle age, which could make a very entertaining film.

The goal is to make the film with only $50 million, a small budget in the world of Hollywood (comedy “Hot Tub Time Machine” had a similar budget). However, while the film is finally going to be underway, it can’t really start until Parisot has finished directing Bruce Willis in “Red.” Also, according to Vulture, MGM still owns the rights to “Bill and Ted,” but the project is being shopped around to other studios in the hopes of getting a co-financier. After that, all bets are off.
