Keira Knightley has been named as a top candidate to play Chris Pine’s wife in director Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming pic ‘Jack Ryan’. So far actress Evangeline Lilly and Felicity Jones have reportedly auditioned for the role but it looks like Knightley currently has the upper hand. The film is an adaption of the Tom Clancy book series that places Pine in the role of as a Moscow-based financial analyst who finds himself in a deadly situation after discovering that his company has plans to support a terrorist attack that will wipe out the U.S. economy. Pine’s ‘Jack Ryan’ will take it upon himself to fight back and save his country as well as his wife.
News on whether or not Knightley will be part of the flick should be revealed soon since Branagh has shared that the movie plans to kick off production shortly. “We start shooting in the beginning of September, and we’ll be shooting through until Christmas,” Branagh shared. If Knightley signs on the actress will have to juggle her new role in ‘Jack Ryan’ along with her rumored attachment to the Andrucha Waddington directed movie ‘Untouched’, ‘Can a Song Save Your Life?’, and the flick ‘Anna Karenina’ where she has nabbed the role as the title character.
