Zac Efron’s star is steadily growing with a slew of movies under his belt (and in pre and post production), and he’s added another film – “Are We Officially Dating?” written and directed by Tom Gormican. According to The Hollywood Reporter, QED International will shop the project to foreign buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival. “Are We Officially Dating?” was the top-rated comedy on the 2010 Black List.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Are We Officially Dating?” revolves around three friends in New York City who make a pact to remain single just as each starts to fall in love. Production is scheduled to begin in November in New York. Justin Nappi and Kevin Turen of Treehouse Pictures will produce with Scott Aversano and Andrew O’Connor. Michael Simkin, Jason Barrett and Manu Gargi are executive producing.

The announcement came from the Toronto Film Festival, where Efron will appear with “The Paperboy” and “Liberal Arts.” Efron is also at the Venice Film Festival with “At Any Price.” Gormican recently sold “Bad Form” to Warner Bros. and “Save the Date” to Sony, and he is working on a pilot with Greg Daniels and Tracy Katsky.

Zac Efron is quickly proving why he’s more of an actor than what we saw in his Disney past. What do you think of Efron’s new roles?
