Are you ready for some 3 dimensional monster fun? Disney and Pixar’s family favorite, “Monsters, Inc.” is following the 3D trend with a re-release of the classic film. The film will be released as “Monsters, Inc. 3D” on December 19 (an interesting precursor to the next installment of the film, “Monsters University,” which is released on June 21, 2013).

The trailer (which is in 2D, because most of us don’t have 3D televisions or laptops) and the poster have been released, and you can view both below.

Official Synopsis via IMDB:

Monsters generate their city’s power by scaring children, but they are terribly afraid themselves of being contaminated by children, so when one enters Monstropolis, top scarer Sulley finds his world disrupted.

The film stars John Goodman (“The Artist,” “Roseanne”), Billy Crystal (“When Harry Met Sally,” “Analyze This”), Steve Buscemi (“The Big Lebowski,” “Boardwalk Empire”), John Ratzenberger (the “Toy Story” series, “Cheers”), and Bonnie Hunt (“The Bonnie Hunt Show,” “The Green Mile”).

Are you ready for this re-release of a Disney/Pixar classic? Do you think this new trend is a good one? Should classic films just be left alone instead of being 3D-ified for the new generation? Share your opinion and sound off in the comments section below!
