Fans of “Angry Birds” and “Star Wars” will be excited to learn that two of their favorite franchises are coming together in an epic game! Rovio Entertainment and Lucasfilm Ltd. announced today the upcoming launch of “Angry Birds Star Wars.” The game will combine elements of classic “Angry Birds,” “Angry Birds Space” and the characters and locations from “Star Wars.”The game will be released November 8 and be available on iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone and Windows 8.
Rovio is thrilled to be working with Lucasfilm. “This is the best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done. It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in a galaxy far, far away,” said Peter Vesterbacka, CMO of Rovio. “As a big Star Wars fan myself, I’m really excited about this new universe. The Force is definitely strong with this one.”
Alongside the game will be the unveiling of an extensive retail launch for “Angry Birds Star Wars.” Merchandise will range from Halloween costumes and apparel to action figures and collectible plush toys. The official merchandise will be available at select retailers beginning October 28. Additionally, fans can expect to see new videos, characters and more from this new partnership.
