Zombie fans and enthusiasts need to know about ZombiCon 2012. The convention, which will take place in Fort Myers, Florida between October 20-21, is aiming to be the largest gathering of zombies in the United States.

The convention will boast guests such artists, bands, authors and voice actors like D.C. Douglas, who voices villain Albert Wesker in the “Resident Evil” zombie survival video game series.

Douglas, who posted a video on YouTube to promote the event, said he’s thrilled to be a part of the convention. “I was excited to be invited as a guest since it’s such an unusual con,” said Douglas. “But once I learned more about the charity behind it, I wanted to pitch in to help spread the word…and the virus.”

Other guests include Zombologist Doc Lucky, Michael Ornstein (“Sons of Anarchy”), Madison Lintz (“The Walking Dead”), the cast of the original “Day of The Dead” and more. Highlights of ZombiCon include The Space Bar (an adult lounge with go-go dancers) AirSoft Zombie Experience, ZombieKids Zone, Autopocalyptic Car Show, Sunday Bloody Brunch, ZombiQueen Drag Pageant and an outdoor music festival.

ZombiCon is organized by the new non-profit Pushing Daizies. According to ZombiCon.com, Pushing Daizies, Inc. is an organization that uses artistic means to benefit the community and contributes to local and state organizations. Through Zombicon, Pushing Daizies has helped the Harry Chapin Food Bank and the Lee Memorial Blood Center and Renal Transplant.
