Famke Janssen will reportedly reprise her role of Jean Grey in the upcoming ‘X-Men’ prequel film, ‘The Wolverine,’ We Got This Covered is reporting. The actress hinted that she may have flown into Sydney last week to shoot the appearance while she was promoting her latest film, ‘Taken 2.’

Janssen previously played the love of Wolverine’s life, Jean Grey, who was also known as The Phoenix, in the previous ‘X-Men’ movies. It’s not known yet how the character will fit into ‘The Wolverine,’ since she was killed by the title character in ‘X-Men: The Last Stand.’ But given the time jumping in 2014’s ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past,’ and producer Bryan Singer’s hint of connectivity between the ‘X-Men’ films, ‘The Wolverine’ is believed to be another prequel to the original ‘X-Men’ trilogy.

‘The Wolverine’ is being directed by ‘3:10 To Yuma’ helmer James Mangold. The sci-fi action film stars Hugh Jackman, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Will Yun Lee and Brian Tee. The movie is set to be theatrically released on July 26, 2013.
