Relativity Media and Reel FX have announced today that their animated comedy “Turkeys” will be released November 14, 2014. The film stars Owen Wilson (“Cars”), Woody Harrelson (“The Hunger Games”) and Dan Fogler (“Kung Fu Panda”).

The film is directed by Jimmy Hayward, director of box office hit Horton Hears A Who! and animator on such films as Disney/Pixar’s “Finding Nemo” and “Monsters Inc.” The film’s script was written by David I. Stern and John Strauss (with Craig Mazin geting a rewrite credit). Strauss and Stern are also producing the film.

The plot of “Turkeys” involves two turkeys from two sides of the tracks:

“Turkeys is an irreverent, hilarious, adventurous buddy comedy where two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history – and get turkey off the menu for good.”

Along with this news, Relativity has also announced that the release date of “Safe Haven,” based on the popular book by Nicholas Sparks, and directed by Oscar® and DGA-nominee Lasse Hallström (“The Cider House Rules”), will be pushed back a few days next year to coincide with Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2013.
