The new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi action adventure sequel ‘Star Trek Into Darkness‘ has been released by Paramount. The follow-up to the hit 2009 reboot, ‘Star Trek,’ was directed by returning filmmaker J.J. Abrams, and will be released into theaters on May 17, 2013. The second film will once again feature Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho, as well as new stars Alice Eve and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The new nearly two-minute long ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ teaser features all of the main characters of the sequel aboard the starship U.S.S. Enterprise. The character shots are interlaced with action sequences and large scale destruction.
‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ follows the Enterprise crew when they’re called back home. They find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization that has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving Earth in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk, played by Pine, leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. The Enterprise crew is then propelled into an epic game of life and death, and love will be challenged. Friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
