Star Trek fans got a Christmas gift yesterday from Empire Magazine in the form of new movie stills from the upcoming sequel, “Star Trek Into Darkness.” Empire Magazine not only printed cool exclusives, such as Spock acting like a BAMF with a phaser (which show that this film is probably going to be even more action-packed than the last one), but also had special edition covers showing Kirk and Harrison.

You can take a look at these and other pictures released so far, such as Spock (Zachary Quinto) and Kirk (Chris Pine) looking at John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch) behind glass, at StarTrek.com.

“Star Trek Into Darkness,” also starring Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho and Alice Eve is the next chapter in the new “Star Trek” timeline. This time around, Kirk is set to learn a tough lesson in his short tenure as captain as he comes into contact with the mysterious Harrison, who promises destruction and some sort of supreme power. The film will be in theaters May 17, 2013.

What do you think about the film? Do you think this film will be even better than the last one? Give us your opinions in the comments section below.
