2013 is here, and if you’re a fan of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” you are probably counting down the days until November 2013 comes around. However, there is a bit of 2012 news to take care of, something that might make you feel like the end of the long wait is in sight.

According to the Examiner, December 21, 2012, was, of course not the end of the world, but instead was the end of filming “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” in Hawaii. According to the article, Sam Claflin (Finnick Odair) and Stephanie Leigh (Cashmere) tweeted that the filming had finished on The Big Island.

Of course, there’s still a slew of months to wait, but with the ending of filing in Hawaii being announced, there’s only a little bit left to do to the movie before it’s ready for its November 22 release.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, the winner of the 74th Hunger Games. Josh Hutcherson plays Peeta Mellark, the other winner of the historic games. The two winners go back to their district, only to get drafted again for the Quarter Quell edition of The Hunger Games. Now, they must fight for their lives as well as save themselves from the Capitol, who are out for Katniss’ blood.
