NBC has recently given the greenlight to a comedy starring Michael J. Fox and The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on who is joining the cast.

First some background; Fox will play Mike Burnaby, a former local New York City lead anchor who is back at work after Parkinson’s Disease forced him to take time off.

They have reported that the latest on the show’s casting–Katie Finneran has signed on to play Burnaby’s younger sister, Leigh. Her character is bound to be fun to watch; Leigh is described as being jobless and self-centered, trying to do whatever she can to stay young. Finneran will join young actors Conor Romero and Jack Goor, who play Burnaby’s sons.

“Treme” star Wendell Pierce will also be a part of the show; he will play Burnaby’s friend and old boss, Harris Green. His character is described of being a person with a heart of gold, even though he’s proud of being single and is constantly looking for the next level in status and higher ratings.
