Freestyle Digital Media has announced that they have acquired all DVD and VOD rights to “Norman.” the critically-acclaimed film, directed by Jonathan Segal, stars Emily VanCamp, Dan Byrd, Richard Jenkins, Adam Goldberg and Billy Lush. The film was the previous winner of the Silver Hugo New Directors Competition at the Chicago International Film Festival. You can look for “Norman” on DVD and VOD on May 7.

“Norman is a life-affirming film with wonderful performances and excellent reviews,” Susan Jackson, CEO of FDM, said. “The film has real heart and we are delighted to be working with such a talented young cast and director.”

Segal also added, “Freestyle emphatically connected with the film and we believe their experience in marketing and distributing commercial and character driven films will be a great fit for Norman.”

Here’s the synopsis of “Norman:”

“‘Norman’ tells the story of Norman Long (Dan Byrd), a self-aware and darkly funny teen who is trying to handle his daily high school existence. An unexpected set of life-changing circumstances turns his world upside down and then ultimately right side up as he meets the magnetic Emily (Emily VanCamp). With love, humility and a heavy dose of truth, he emerges to face challenges not meant for a boy his age.”
