Let’s face it–Gerard Butler has had some bad luck with films. Just last year, Butler was in stinkers like “Chasing Mavericks,” “Playing for Keeps” and the now-infamous “Movie 43.” But, it seems like Butler is getting some of his “300” charisma back in “Olympus Has Fallen,” a film about the White House under siege by North Korean terrorists.

CinemaBlend posted a featurette (originally on Apple) about Butler’s character and the amount of training Butler had to do for his role. It seems like there’s going to be a lot of punching, gunslinging, running and other forms of self-defense in this movie, so do you think this could be the film that will finally put Butler back on the action track instead of the sappy rom-com/comedy track which is currently doing him no favors (especially if “Movie 43” is an example)? I hope so.

If you think this is finally the right kind of film for Butler, proclaim it in the comments section. If you actually want Butler to be less of an action star, talk about that too. I’m sure it would make for some great comments section debate!

“Olympus Has Fallen” is directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars, along with Butler, Angela Bassett, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Rick Yune, Melissa Leo and Dylan McDermott. The film will be in theaters March 22.
