The first promotional item for Spike Lee’s remake of Chan-wook Park’s “Oldboy” has hit CinemaCon.

The 2003 original focused on Oh Dae-su, a man who’s kidnapped and held in a hotel room-like prison for years until he’s suddenly released with no explanation at all. The Spike Lee rendition sticks with the original storyline, but swaps in Josh Brolin’s advertising executive for Oh Dae-su, and this new poster appropriately represents the 20 years he’s held in the prison, with each red etching representing a year.

The 2013 “Oldboy” cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Sharlto Copley, and is due in theaters on October 11th, 2013.
