Sports Illustrated’s recent cover of the fate of fictional athletes in the article “Where are they now?” has revealed what became of Will Ferrell’s Ricky Bobby following ‘Talladega Nights’. As shared by director Adam McKay, the Nascar champ is said to have fallen from grace after losing several sponsors. Ricky Bobby’s last speech also helped his demise due to a misunderstanding over his crew member Alfred Ahi. “I want to give a huge thank you to Al Ah!” Ricky Bobby yelled to the crowd. “Without Al Ah, none of this would be possible! Those that don’t recognize Al Ah are my enemy!!”

Ricky Bobby now owns RB’s Smoke and Toke Shop in Keneshaw, Kentucky with his best friend and partner Cal, played by John C. Reilly in the film. “Once Susan left me I bottomed out. Cal and I spent a lot of time at Dave & Busters eating fried zuchinni and playing video golf. It was a dark time.” Adding, “I used to make people smile through my racing. Now I make ‘em smile through my quality water pipes and vaporizers,” Ricky Bobby said. ”All for use with tobacco products only!” he quickly adds, his eyes darting around the room. “You’re not a cop are you?”
