The longest-running series in television history, “Cops,” is now in its 26th season on its new home, Spike TV. Even though it’s at a new network, it’s still got it’s long-held Saturday night timeslot at 8 pm/7 pm central.

The premiere episode, airing Sept. 14, will show the results of ride-alongs with law enforcement officers in Stockton, CA, Sarasota County, FL and Amarillo, TX. You can take a sneak peek at the first episode in this video below the post. As always, “Cops” is gripping, and this season (including this clip) promises no less in terms of drama and action.

Here’s more on “Cops”:

“’Cops’ allows viewers to ride along with the men and women of law enforcement every week as they take on everything from domestic disputes to car chases. Created by John Langley, the ground-breaking series premiered on March 11, 1989, and has aired over 900 new episodes. The show has followed officers in 140 different cities in the United States and in Hong Kong, London, and the former Soviet Union.
The 26th season premiere episode includes a suspect fleeing as officers respond to a fight call, a belligerent meth user refusing to cooperate after being pulled over and a cranky husband getting busted for pot after his wife kicks over his Harley.”
