Tim Burton has been hit or miss lately, let’s be honest. “Frankenweenie” was probably his best film in recent years, and even that one had an unsatisfying, forced ending. But perhaps “Big Eyes,” Burton’s latest entry in the biopic genre, will bring him back to form.

The film stars Amy Adams as mid-century artist Margaret Keane and Christoph Waltz as her husband, Walter. USA Today posted the exclusive images, featuring Adams at an easel painting one of Keane’s famous big-eyed girls and another with Adams and Waltz seemingly arguing over another one of her paintings. As CinemaBlend states, Walter gets the credit for Margaret’s portraits. “Margaret really believed that as a woman, people would not buy her art,” Adams said to USA Today. “[Walter] convinced her the life they were able to lead was because the artist was a man, who could sell more art at a higher price than a woman.”

The movie stills are below. At first glance, the film looks like it’s going to be really good and could showcase Burton’s true talents, something “Alice in Wonderland” didn’t do. What do you think about this film? Will Burton’s latest biopic stand the test of time like “Ed Wood”? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
