Trying to help a community protect its already established source of power can ultimately lead to an even bigger struggle for control. Actress Sarah Habel is leading the fight to determine the capability of those people who are supposed to be in charge of a nuclear power plant in the upcoming sci-fi thriller, ‘Atomica.’ The drama is set to be released by Syfy Films into theaters on March 17, which will be followed by the March 21 VOD and Digital HD distribution.

‘Atomica’ was directed by ‘Beneath’ and ‘Broken Hill’ helmer, Dagen Merrill. The upcoming sci-fi movie was written by Kevin Burke, Fred Fernandez-Armesto and Adam Gyngell. In addition to Habel, ‘Atomica’s cast also includes Dominic Monaghan, who also served as an executive producer, and Tom Sizemore.

In ‘Atomica,’ when communications go offline at a remote nuclear power plant isolated in the desert, a young safety inspector, Abby Dixon, is forced to fly out to bring them back online. Once inside the facility, mysterious clues and strange behavior cause Abby to have doubts about the sanity and, perhaps, identities of the two employees onsite.
