Technology is meant to bring people all over the world closer together. But there’s always the underlying question of how much you can really trust the people you’re communicating with online. That faith is truly tested when popular apps encourage their users to meet and interact with strangers in their everyday lives. That question of who you’re truly dealing with is powerfully presented in the new horror film, ‘Ryde.’ In honor of the the drama’s upcoming release, Shockya is premiering an exclusive clip from the movie, which is titled ‘Fantasy.’

Gravitas Ventures is set to distribute ‘Ryde’ in select theaters and On Demand on September 15. The thriller was directed by Brian Visciglia, who also co-wrote the script with Dustin Frost and Kat Silvia. The film stars David Wachs and Jessica Serfaty.

The following official synopsis for ‘Ryde’ has been released by Gravitas Ventures:

A hip, new ride share service app called Ryde is taking over and dominating the taxi industry. It’s less expensive, and capturing followers with its fun and casual “friend giving you a ride: vibe. It’s the latest and coolest app out there..But is it safe? Everyone is going to find out when a psychopath hacks the identity of a Ryde driver. Now everyone who uses the app will be at the mercy of this maniac. Getting a ride form Ryde might be just be a few clicks away, but getting out of the car alive may not be so easy.
