Shazam Poster
Zachary Levi has debuted the poster for his upcoming superhero movie, ‘Shazam!,’ which was directed by David F. Sandberg.

Nothing is more serious than saving the world from evil, but Zachary Levi is trying to infuse some fun into the process with his upcoming superhero movie, ‘Shazam!’ The actor has debuted the new poster for the upcoming action film on his personal Instagram page, where he also promised that a new trailer for the project will be unveiled in the new year. Warner Bros. will then distribute ‘Shazam!’ in theaters April 5, 2019.

The adventure comedy was written by Henry Gayden, and directed by David F. Sandberg. ‘Shazam!’ marks the horror filmmaker‘s first foray into the superhero genre, after helming ‘Lights Out’ and ‘Annabelle: Creation.’

In addition to Levi, who plays the adult version of the title character, the movie also stars Asher Angel as the teenage version of the protagonist. Djimon Hounsou plays the nameless Wizard who grants Billy, the young boy who transforms into Shazam, his super-powers. Mark Strong portrays Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, a supervillain who controls deadly forces of evil, and only Shazam can stop him.

Warner Bros. has released the following official synopsis for ‘Shazam!,’ which is set in the same DC Extended Universe as films like ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Wonder Woman’:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—Shazam!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Hounsou). Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
