Royalton Antigua Hotel Stay Nightmare

During a recent four-night stay at Royalton Antigua, what was anticipated to be a luxurious experience turned into a harrowing ordeal, leaving me deeply dissatisfied and disheartened.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with an exorbitant room rate of $3000 per night for an over-water bungalow in a four star hotel. Despite warnings from a friend about the establishment’s questionable reputation, I proceeded with the booking, only to regret it deeply.

The issues began to surface almost immediately. Firstly, I was struck with a severe case of food poisoning, presumably from the hotel’s dining facilities. This not only compromised my health but also severely disrupted my plans for the duration of my stay.

Furthermore, the amenities promised in the exorbitantly priced bungalow were far from satisfactory. The water in the supposedly luxurious bath appeared brown, indicating a severe lack of maintenance and cleanliness. Despite attempting to rectify the situation by refilling the bath, the problem persisted, leaving me utterly disgusted.

To exacerbate matters, room service only added insult to injury. Instead of delivering the expected standard of quality, I was met with undrinkable coffee that resembled the same murky brown hue as the bathwater. This level of incompetence and disregard for guest satisfaction is utterly unacceptable.

While the staff exhibited a degree of politeness, their efforts were overshadowed by the systemic failures and neglect evident throughout the establishment. Despite being assured of a refund for the remaining three nights—a total of $9000 USD—my attempts to communicate via email have been met with complete disregard, adding further frustration and disappointment to an already disastrous experience.

In conclusion, my stay at Royalton Antigua can only be described as a nightmarish ordeal, marred by rampant incompetence, unhygienic conditions, and a blatant disregard for guest welfare. I implore the management to address these issues promptly and provide the promised refund as a gesture of accountability and restitution. Failure to do so will undoubtedly tarnish the reputation of the establishment beyond repair and warrant further action to rectify this egregious situation.
