Variety reports that the upcoming “Gears of War” adaptation has got its helmer. Director Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) and writer Chris Morgan (Fast and Furious) will develop the story.

“We want to get it right. There’s no timetable for us. We just want to make as good a movie as we can, and we think (Wiseman’s) the guy who will do it,” says Mark Rein from Epic Games.

“Gears of War” is based on the hit XBox 360 Epic Games and Microsoft game that follows a team of soldiers who fight to take back the planet Sera from an invasion of super aliens.
