A month after publicly confirming their engagement, Orlando Bloom and 27-year-old Australian model Miranda Kerr secretly married and are on their honeymoon, PEOPLE reported on July 23. The wedding comes a surprise, as Kerr, one of the top 10 highest paid models in the world, was scheduled to make an appearance for the Australian department store David Jones.
Of the cancellation, Kerr said that “David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together.” She added that she’s very committed to her role with the store, and she is grateful to Jones for allowing her to take time off to enjoy her honeymoon.
Kerr met the 33-year-old actor, who’s next scheduled to appear in the ‘Three Musketeers’ remake due out next spring, had been together for almost three years before marrying. She said they were friends before they got into a romantic relationship, as she was in another relationship with then they first met. Bloom’s high-profile, four-year relationship with actress Kate Bosworth ended in 2006.
