Facebook co-founding president Sean Parker is denying that he’s the Silicon Valley rock star portrayed by Justin Timberlake in the hit movie ‘The Social Network,’ Us Magazine is reporting. Despite the fact that the singer is receiving early Oscar buzz for his portrayal of Parker, the real-life Napster founder isn’t giving Timberlake the same acclaim that everyone else is.

“It’s a great performance of a character that isn’t me,” Parker told Us at the 2010 Angel Ball in New York on October 21. When asked whether Timberlake should be nominated for his first Academy Award for the role, Parker laughed, saying “That’s a good question. That’s not my industry.”

Timberlake starred alongside newcomer Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Parker left Facebook after a 2005 cocaine arrest, but still unofficially advises the company.

  1. Unlike you Sean, Justin actually creates music & didn't just pirate it to be successful. Either way, he based the characterization on SARAH Parker. . ..
