Along with the group’s music, the band title also plays a significant role in a group’s success. How can news about an up and coming band spread, if the title is not the least bit memorable? Our advice to you aspiring singers and musicians is to create a name that is both uniquely unforgettable and applicable to your musical style. Take our latest obsession, A Million Pieces. The group, consisting of vocalist and guitarist, Morgan Freed, guitarist and vocalist, Peter Vanderloos, bassist, Ryan Brown and keyboardist, Stephen Soss, has a sound that cannot be described with just a few words, rather a million, give or take. Their debut self-titled EP, which dropped on April 26th via Scallywag Records, incorporates elements of rock n’ roll, alternative, pop, techno and show tune music. A band made up of many genres is well suited for the title, A Million Pieces.

We challenge you to try and impress us by making up your own band. In no more than 300 words, describe to us your band’s sound and why they are worthy for the title you are giving them. Let your creativity run free because you could win a copy of A Million Pieces’ EP. You have until July 18th to make us want to sign your band via our invisible label. Remember to post your words in the comment section of this article and to e-mail your entry to freestuff@shockya.com.
