Sharon Tate's Jewelry From Murder Scene Up For Auction

The engagement ring Sharon Tate was wearing on the night of her murder in 1969 is being auctioned, TMZ is reporting. Beginning on November 30, 2011, interested buyers can place bids of at least $10,000 on Gotta Have Rock and Roll’s official website. The actress had the engagement ring, which was given to her by her husband Roman Polanski in 1967, when she was stabbed to death by Charles Manson’s followers.

Julien’s Auction house, which is in charge of the bidding, is claiming that Polanski removed the ring from Tate’s finger when he identified her body at the morgue. However, conflicting reports claim that the director’s agent, William Tennant, identified her body, as her husband wasn’t in America at the time.

Tate’s ring is just one of several pieces of Hollywood memorabilia that’s being auctioned on the website, which also includes Madonna’s bustiers and Justin Bieber’s Super Bowl commercial jacket. Julien’s Auction house recently made news for scheduling to sell the headboard from the bed Michael Jackson slept in when he died. The board was recently removed, but several other pieces that belonged to Jackson are still on sale, including a mirror from his bedroom and some of his furniture.
