“Project Runway” took the competition up a notch with the avant-garde challenge. The challenge. The challenge issued to the designers was to create a daring dress that also included neon tape, fairy lights, and other special effects that would glow under a blacklight.

Most of the designers had some struggles like Michael; Michael created about three dresses and picked the best one. Some others, like Jerell and Austin, felt they had the challenge locked down with their looks.

Austin was the only one between him and Jerell that was correct about their designs, though; Austin won the challenge and won the prize, which was to have his design featured on one of rapper/fashion designer Pharrell Williams’ many artists.

The loser in this challenge was Jerell. His tribal/ethnic aesthetic is a great aesthetic to have, but he often allows his designs to go messy and unedited, and this particular design, while interesting above the knees, was a mess below with the long black skirt.

Personally, I think Jerell should have been voted out last week with his India design, because Mila’s dress was interesting and very well made.

What did you think of this week’s episode? Do you agree with Jerell getting voted out? Give your opinions below.
