Jessica and Ashlee Simpson’s father Joe was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles on August 4, TMZ is reporting. Law enforcement officials have stated that the actresses and singers’ father and manager was arrested on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. LAPD police pulled Simpson over around 10pm, and during the stop, the officers began to suspect he was intoxicated.
The officers ultimately handcuffed Simpson and brought him to the station. He was booked and spent the night in jail. He was released the following morning at 9:41 without having to pay bail.
The case hasn’t yet been sent to prosecutors in the L.A. City Attorney’s Office. But if criminal charges are filed, it’s likely Simpson won’t face any jail time, because it’s his first offense. He’ll likely pay a fine instead.
