Bob Barker, the Emmy award-winning former host of ‘The Price is Right,’ and ‘CSI’ actress Jorja Fox, will be honored at the special lion-themed night on Saturday, October 13, in the Hollywood Hills. The celebrity-studded event will be hosted by Animal Defenders International (ADI), and admission is by ticket only. Tickets, which are available on the ADI official website, start at $150. The $500 tickets include a VIP champagne reception.
Lion Ark Night will be themed around last year’s successful ADI Operation Lion Ark rescue mission. The mission saved 29 circus lions from Bolivia and brought them to the U.S. The mission is currently being made into a feature length documentary, titled ‘Lion Ark.’
ADI undercover investigations secured a ban on animal circuses in Bolivia. The ADI team tracked down and raided the circuses defying the law in the South American country. Every animal was rescued, with the 29 lions airlifted by the ADI to safety to the US.
The gala will be held at a private home in the Hollywood Hills, and will feature a preview of scenes from the forthcoming documentary. The preview will be introduced by ADI founders Jan Creamer and Tim Phillips, who led the rescue mission in Bolivia. The gala will also feature music, vegan hors d’oeuvres, desserts, wine, spirits, art and speakers.
Barker is the 2012 recipient of the international Lord Houghton award for Services in Animal Welfare. Fox will receive the ADI Animal Champion Award for her work to protect animals used in entertainment.
