Ron Burgundy is preserving his legacy with the new ‘Anchorman: The Exhibit‘ at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. The exhibit, which is now open, features props, costumes and footage from the cult 2004 comedy. Created in partnership with the film’s distributor, Paramount Pictures, the exhibit opened just weeks before the movie’s anticipated sequel, ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,’ is scheduled to hit theaters on December 20.

An eight-foot revolving display case, which features the iconic burgundy business suit worn by the title newscaster character, will greet visitors to the Newseum. There are also 60 other costumes and props from the movie that are on display throughout the exhibit, including Ron’s “I’M #1” license plat, jazz flute and mustache brush.

The exhibit also features costumes worn by the other members of Ron’s Channel 4 news team, including suits worn by reporter Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) and sports anchor Champ Kind (David Koechner). The Sex Panther cologne worn by reporter Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) is also featured. The costumes are featured alongside a stuffed prop version of Ron’s dog Baxter, wearing Chanel 4 pajamas, as well as the eyeglasses worn by weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell).

‘Anchorman: The Exhibit’ also explores the reality behind the humor of the two ‘Anchorman’ films, as well as the challenges women faced when they first arrived in newsrooms. Costumes and props from ‘Anchorman 3: The Legend Continues’ will also be unveiled on December 17.

On display at the Newseum through August 31, 2014, ‘Anchorman: The Exhibit’ also allows visitors to see if they have what it takes to be a member of the Channel 4 newsteam. Ron Burgundy provides intros to the Newseums’ popular Be a TV Reporter experience. News anchors can also have their photos taken behind a replica of the Channel 4 News desk.
