Love is seemingly in the air for actress Lindsay Burdge, who’s determined to find lasting intimate companionship in her upcoming drama, ‘Thirst Street.’ The trailer for the film, which was inspired by the romance seen in 1970s European cinema, has debuted on Entertainment Weekly. The clip highlights the romantic obsession that’s growing in the performer’s well-meaning protagonist, who seems to be out of her element at times as she tries to navigate the world of dating.

‘Thirst Street was directed by Nathan Silver, who also co-wrote the script with C. Mason Wells. In addition to Burdge, the movie also stars Damien Bonnard, Esther Garrel and Lola Bessism, and is narrated by Academy Award-winner Anjelica Huston.

Samuel Goldwyn Films is set to distribute ‘Thirst Street’ at New York City’s Quad Cinema on September 20, and then at Los Angeles’ Laemmle TBC on September 29. The drama is then set to be released in additional cities nationwide throughout the rest of the fall. The theatrical distribution comes after the drama had its world premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

The following synopsis for ‘Thirst Street’ has been released by Samuel Goldwyn Films:

Alone and depressed after the suicide of her lover, American flight attendant Gina (Burdge) travels to Paris and hooks up with nightclub bartender Jerome (Bonnard) on her layover. But as Gina falls deeper into lust and opts to stay in France, this harmless rendezvous quickly turns into unrequited amour fou. When Jerome’s ex Clemence (Garrel) reenters the picture, Gina is sent on a downward spiral of miscommunication, masochism, and madness.
