Staying true to their roots, while also striving to improve themselves and fully embrace the world around them, is a powerful motivator for many musicians who strive to create authentic songs. That’s certainly the case for Johannesburg-based singer-songwriter, Christian Heath, who has released a new emotional and personal six-track EP, ‘One.’ Relentlessly believing in his versatile musical abilities, the musician not only incorporates his love for the people in his life, but also his passion for embracing the international landscape, into his lyrics, so that he can craft tunes with a universal appeal.

The first entry on ‘One’ is the memorable and enticing ‘I’m Yours.’ Backed by a soothing guitar, the captivating power love ballad has the potential to be a commercial radio hit, as Heath croons about wanting to find the answers of what it means to love the woman he’s involved with. He passionately states that he’ll willingly follow her no matter where she goes, as she has been the woman who he’s wanted to be with since they met.

‘I’m Yours’ then transitions into the award-winning single, ‘One (A World Song),’ which features Infidelix. The song, which incorporates a completely different vibe than its predecessor, includes a pulsating mix of electronic instruments and interesting horns. The track won’t appeal to all listeners, however, due to its support of changing the political landscape, in order to improve people’s way of life. But Heath intensely sings about searching for a way to stop people’s pain and suffering, and make the world a better place.

The next tune on Heath’s latest EP is ‘Tonight,’ which thrives on its Latin-infused guitar riffs. The upbeat entry returns to the musician’s more appealing and signature love ballad, as he sings how he wants to dance with the woman he loves, and make all her dreams come true. The memorable song shows the woman he loves what type of man he truly is, as he promises to fulfill her every need.

Another gripping track on ‘One’ is ‘No Good For You,’ which features a gripping and emotional piano rhythm and drum beat. Heath sullenly ponders if he’ll continue to push the woman he loves, no matter how inadvertent or unintentional his actions may be. The distinct rock-infused pop tune stands out amongst Heath’s songs, as he wonders if he can finally stay on the best course with the woman he loves, even though he questions if he’s good for her. With the pulsating tempo and unforgettable chorus, the song would be a commanding choice for a movie scene that follows a broken romantic relationship.

The penultimate entry on the musician’s latest EP is the intriguing and noteworthy ‘Paradise.’ Featuring a slower tempo and soothing guitar, the sentimental track features Heath crooning that he can’t believe the woman he loves is in his life. He promises her that he’ll do whatever it takes to make their sure that their love is compatible, as he wants to make their relationship work.

The singer-songwriter continues professing his love for the woman in his life on ‘One’s final tune, ‘Magic.’ The song also notes how she’s the only one for him, and he feels that holding her is marvelous. The track interestingly mixes a vintage disco instrumentation from the 1970s with a modern synthesizing tempo, which perfectly wraps up Heath’s eclectic style.

Staying loyal to their roots, while also striving to improve themselves and fully embrace the world around them, is a dynamic motivator for many musicians who strive to create authentic songs. That’s certainly the case for Heath, who’s showcasing his emotional personal path on his new EP. Relentlessly believing in his versatile musical abilities, the singer-songwriter not only incorporates his love for the people in his life into his songs on ‘One’, but also his passion for embracing the international landscape. As a result, he crafts passionate love songs with a universal appeal.
