Emma Stone has turned down the opportunity to appear in the film version of the television series that made Johnny Depp famous. The ’21 Jump Street’ movie, which will be led by Jonah Hill, is expected to become filming next year. She told MTV that “I don’t think I’m going to be part of that,” as she is already committed to the ‘Spider-Man’ reboot. Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have decided to try their hand at directing by signing on to helm the Paramount comedy ‘Doc and Howie’. The film, which was written by Steve Leff, follows two slackers who don’t help an old woman with her groceries. The woman dies as a result, and the two guys are left wondering if they should tell her two granddaughters of their part in her death. 20th Century Fox has attached Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writing team behind the 2009 horror-comedy hit “Zombieland”, to pen the script for their planned “Deadpool” film, starring Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds would be reprising his role as the “Merc with a Mouth” from Fox’s 2009 “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”.
